Kevin Kiley speaks to San Luis Obispo County Republicans
Several hundred people attend Republican conference near Pismo Beach
– Assemblyman Kevin Kiley (R-Folsom) spoke to several hundred people at a Republican conference near Pismo Beach Saturday. Kiley spearheaded the unsuccessful drive to recall Governor Gavin Newsom last year.
Last week, he proposed a suspension of the 51 cent California gas tax to reduce the cost of gas in the state. That bill was defeated along party lines in the California State Assembly. Governor Newsom is proposing a $400 tax rebate to all Californians. At the meeting in Pismo Beach Saturday, Kiley says he will try again this week to get the gas tax suspension approved.
Kiley is now running for Congress in the 3rd District in California. The 37-year-old Northern California Republican graduated from Harvard University and Yale Law School. He taught school before he ran for the California State Assembly. He currently represents an Assembly District near Folsom, Calif.
Also appearing at the event Saturday, Peggy Hall, who produces “The Healthy American.” She’s a former educator from Northern San Diego County who helps people challenge legal actions related to mandatory masking.
