Kids 12-years and under can fly free on ziplines through Halloween

Zipline santa margarita

Margarita Adventures zipline canopy tours recently announced students 12-years-old and under can ride ziplines for free when accompanied by a paying adult from now through Oct. 31.

“Some kids are excited to be back in school, others are more tentative—but they almost all love the thrill of ziplining,” said Karl Wittstrom, owner of Margarita Adventures, which is located on the historic Santa Margarita Ranch. “This is a great way to reward a job well done or give students something special to look forward to on the weekend.”

The savings are $89 per child with an accompanying adult.

Margarita Adventures features six ziplines spanning more than 7,500 total linear feet. Better yet, the guided tours introduce guests to Santa Margarita Ranch’s history as part of California’s famed Mission Trail. Nature and wildlife education are also part of the experience, as are insights into sustainable agriculture.

The ziplines begin with the Double Barrel—a new 2,800-foot tandem ride that concludes with a walk on the wild side across a 300-foot suspension bridge.

Next, the 1,300-foot Renegade soars over a valley with breathtaking 360-degree views. The Woodlander glides along the top of native blue and white oaks. The Hilltopper begins with a running start and concludes on a hilltop vista, while the Archway sends guests through a natural archway of companion oaks.

The tour concludes with the Pinot Express, which travels 1,800 feet over a Pinot Noir vineyard and into the P.W. Murphy Mining Camp, a replica 19th century gold mining camp created by TV’s The Redwood Kings. Nearby is an educational display of the massive 10,000-year-old oyster fossils that are prevalent across the ranch.

“Children not only enjoy an unforgettable adventure on our tours, they also learn quite a bit,” Wittstrom said. “So even when they’re out here, you could say that school’s still in.”

How to get this deal

Choose “Book Now” on the Margarita Adventures web site, and when reserving a tour, they will see an option for “12 & Under” with no charge (good for one child for every paying adult in a group) from now through October 31.
