Kindergarten registration now open
Kindergarten registration is for children who will be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016
–Paso Robles Joint Unified School District is ready to begin registration for the upcoming school year. The district has many programs to offer its students at every school site with a focus on academics, arts, athletics, and technology. In addition to a rigorous curriculum, students receive weekly instruction in dance, music, art, and physical education.
The district also offers enrollment in one of two magnet schools: Georgia Brown Elementary (dual immersion language) and Bauer Speck Elementary (visual and performing arts).
The district will be hosting an informational meeting for all parents of incoming kindergarten and transitional kindergarten students. This meeting is for parents of students who will be turning five years old on or before March 1, 2017. The meeting will be held at Paso Robles High School at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3 in English or Thursday, Feb. 4 in Spanish.
Registration packets will be distributed at the meetings. Packets will also be available at all elementary school sites and the district office beginning Feb. 5.
Actual kindergarten registration will take place Feb. 17 – 19 for magnet schools and Feb. 22 – 26 for all elementary schools. Registration will be held in the district office located at 800 Niblick Road from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Registration for new students entering the district in all other grade levels will begin on March 1 at the district office.
Kindergarten is for children who will be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016. Transitional kindergarten is for children who will be five years old on or between Sept. 2, 2016 and Dec. 2, 2016. Early entrance to transitional kindergarten is for children who will be five years old on or between Dec. 3, 2016 and March 1, 2017. Parents may apply for early entrance for the upcoming school year. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
