Kris Gruen set to play Atascadero’s Last Stage West June 29

–On June 29, Last Stage West in Atascadero will host Musician Kris Gruen, at 6 p.m. The restaurant and venue is founded upon the principal of great hospitality, food and music. With roots in Blue Grass, Folk and Country Western music, it’s a way of… life. The “new” Last Stage West will continue this long tradition and expand into additional genre’s of music including jazz, classical, rock, r&b and others.
Kris Gruen writes songs about grownup life infused with a mystic wonder, softening the world’s sharp edges like a glass of exceptionally fine bourbon. Gruen grew up steeped in classic records. His Americana influenced new folk is grounded in the tradition of great narrative songwriters like Cat Stevens and Paul Simon and yet Kris’s voice is strikingly current. A New York City native who has put down roots in Vermont, Gruen effortlessly blends sagacious wit and emotional depth.
