Lean Sashiko sewing at the Paso Robles City Library
– The Paso Robles City Library is hosting a crafting event titled “Crafting with Adults: Sashiko Sewing” on Wednesday, July 10, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the conference room.
Participants will learn the traditional Japanese art of Sashiko sewing techniques, which have been used for centuries to decorate fabric or mend damaged clothing items using a special twisted thread. These techniques will be applied to embroider a throw pillowcase, enhancing home decor. Intricate patterns combined with a simple color palette make for a beautiful design.
This project uses ideas and instructions from the library’s new Creative Bug craft database. The event is open to everyone.
The registration period for this event is from June 21 to July 3.
