Learn to make escabeche at the Paso Robles Library
Master Food Preservers will teach participants to make a spicy pickled vegetable blend
– The Paso Robles City Library, in partnership with members of the University of California Cooperative Extension Master Food Preservers of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties, will offer another class in its food preservation series on Saturday, Aug. 15.
The class will teach participants how to make escabeche, a spicy pickled blend of carrots, peppers, and onions that can be used on tacos, in burritos, or in salads.
Two sessions will be offered at the Library Study Center: 10 to 11:30 a.m. and noon to 1:30 p.m. Class size is limited, and registration is now open. Participants may sign up for either session.
Recipes and all materials will be provided. No canning experience is required. Participants may want to bring an apron or wear older clothes in case of spills.
The class is open to ages 16 and older. Space is limited.
