Learn to mend and repair clothes at Studios on the Park
Blue Arrow Handmade to teach mending and clothing repair techniques
– A clothing mending and repair class will be held at Studios on the Park on March 1 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The class, taught by Blue Arrow Handmade, costs $40 and will cover basic hand-mending techniques for clothing, home goods, and stuffed items.
Participants will learn to sew on a button, repair a seam or hem, and mend holes. The class will address both visible and invisible mending techniques. Attendees must bring a garment or item that needs mending.
The class fee includes access to various threads, needles, and stabilizers. Tools such as scissors, marking tools, and an iron will be available for use. Participants are encouraged to bring thread that matches their item if they prefer an invisible mend.
Those who own a sewing machine may use it during the class but must know how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin independently. Attendees needing a refresher on machine use are encouraged to take the sewing basics class beforehand.
