Letter: Nathan Williams shows deep commitment to schools, families, and our future
To the editor,
– It may be technically legal for Mr. Hunter Breese to run for a seat in Paso Robles Public Schools Trustee Area 3 based on his current voter registration and residency at his new Red Cloud address. However, the situation of his very recent move into Area 3 under the roof of his political ally, Kenny Enney’s fiancé, raises serious concerns about the integrity of our local elections and gives the appearance of political maneuvering rather than genuine representation. Obeying the letter of the law should never come at the expense of the spirit of the law, which is meant to ensure that candidates have a genuine connection to the areas they wish to serve.
Mr. Breese is clearly an articulate young man, as he demonstrated at the recent candidates’ forum. His interest in public service at such a young age is admirable, and we need more young people like him engaged in our political process. While I do not share his views on past issues, I respect his desire to be involved and make a difference. However, this election is about more than political ambition; it’s about trust, integrity, transparency, and sound judgment.
Nathan Williams, on the other hand, has a long and proven history of dedication to our community and to Area 3. A Paso Robles High School graduate himself, father of three children still enrolled in Paso Robles schools, he is also the son of Gregg Williams, a beloved former teacher in Paso Robles. In addition, Nathan has served as school board president with integrity, focusing on what truly matters: the well-being of our students and the long-term success of our district. His leadership during difficult times, including navigating financial challenges, shows his ability to prioritize the needs of the community above politics. Nathan’s vision for a strong, fiscally responsible, and forward-thinking school district has already made a significant impact, and he deserves to continue this important work.
As a 44-year resident of Paso Robles myself, having taught at Paso Robles High School for 33 years, father of four children who were all PRHS graduates, and grandfather of three children living in our school district, I have a deeply vested personal interest in the success of our schools. That is why as an Area 3 resident I fully support Nathan Williams in this race. He has consistently shown his deep commitment to our schools, our families, and our future. Paso Robles voters deserve school board representatives who are truly invested in our district—not just on paper, but in everyday life.
