Letter: Basketball officiating gear stolen from vehicle

    To the editor,

On Saturday night around 5:30 p.m., we had just completed officiating the Hancock basketball game at Cuesta College. We stopped in Paso Robles to eat at the Chili’s. While we were eating, my car rear window was shattered and our officiating travel bags were stolen from the back seat of my Toyota Prius. The police responded and took at report. The bags have not been recovered yet.

The contents inside are useless to people who do not officiate basketball. That evening there were at least four cars vandalized by shattered windows. A car two spaces over had the back window shattered and the owner works at Cal Poly SLO as a police officer.

The police stated that the thief usually goes to another location and looks through the contents then disregards the bag on the side of the road. If anyone see two officiating travel bags with black and white striped shirts, black pants, black officiating coats, black officiating shoes, please let me know at (661) 342-0452. I just want my property returned.

    Thanks,
    Bob Williams
