Letter: City has road improvement priorities wrong

    city parking program
    To the editor,

I see in today’s paper, Nov. 7, 2019, that our city leaders have again paid for consultants to address our roads. Well, actually not our roads, but our bike lanes. I find it interesting that we have 9,000 new homes planned, with no consultant improving our roads for the onslaught of our new residence going into the already crowded Niblick Road, and Creston Road, all going to the limited freeway access. But yet, we’re worried about bike safety. Has there been a number of accidents with bikes? two years ago, the same city planners came into our neighborhood with bike lanes, making the traffic lanes so thin they no longer meet state guidelines. Do you remember last year when we had these huge signs for Bike detours to 101? what the heck… Could it be because of the bike enthusiast who runs our city engineering group? Self-serving government officials need to go.
