Letter: Council candidate thanks supporters, warns of special interests, as vote count continues

– I want to take a moment to thank all the people who have supported me over the last months through this very tough and contentious campaign. Lindia and I truly appreciate you all and to those who weren’t supportive, we still care about your future in this city.
I have spoken to the issues that are so important and impactful to us all. Our poorly maintained roads our budget and spending issues, our priorities going forward, and of course the negative effects of special interests that have to much control over this city.
With that being said I know there are many others who have those same concerns and that’s why we ran. We look forward to a positive final vote tally. There are still many hundreds and thousands of votes that have not been counted in the 3rd District and the county.
I want you all to know that my desire is for the best interests of this city to be the end result of this process. I’ve said before how greed and self-interest can turn a city into an undesirable place to live. I am sure we all want to avoid those mistakes.
As this city moves forward I hope that future pitfalls can be avoided and we can be a city that shows resilience even though we have made mistakes we can learn by them.
Resisting powerful forces that want to move their agendas forward are our greatest enemy. They will present themselves as “good” but in reality will be bad for us and our quality of life. In California, it’s all around us and they are closing in but we can resist them!
God bless this city and let’s keep Paso Robles the wonderful and beautiful place we all know and love.
Regards
Michael Rivera, Paso Robles
Candidate for 3rd District Paso Robles City Council
