Hurricane Patricia relief fundraiser (project Barra): a Dale Evers Studio undertaking

–Over the last decade I have been working at ART21 Studio in Guadalajara Mexico. During these visits I would typically carve out a week to go fishing in Barra de Navidad, a small coastal fishing village. After several trips to Barra I became friends with many of the its residents.

Valentine (left) and his sunken boat.

For example: Cookie’s owns the hotel that I stay at and Olivia serves me coffee at the local espresso joint. My closest friend was my fishing guide, Valentine. Over the last few years I have helped Captain Valentine buy new equipment for his Boat, “Jasmine,” a 28’ Panga. Valentine is a hard-working man devoted to his family and friends.

Last month Hurricane Patricia packing winds of 200 mph pounded the Village of Barra de Navidad and Valentine’s boat was trashed. My heart Aches for the village that I have grown to love.

Valentine needs help and I am asking for your help. I am donating a $900 sculpture to raffle off for his cause. Ironically the sculpture to be raffled is the “Focus” which represents the idea of overcoming adversity. Together we can help this fine human being by getting his boat back in working condition.

Raffle tickets sell for $20 each or 6 for $100.

It is my goal to raise $1,200 for Valentine and his family. For more information, please feel free to contact me at: (805) 234-0975
