Letter: Hundreds gather in Paso Robles to defend democracy

    letter to the editor

    To the editor,

    – Yesterday, Presidents Day, there was a large turnout of people, 300 or more lining Spring Street demonstrating the need to keep our democracy strong and resist the autocratic actions of Trump and Musk.

The responses from the passing drivers were positive and uplifting. This story should have been included in today’s news.

Note: Letter was received on Tuesday, Feb. 18

I am guessing the other 70% of America’s population is wrong. My guess is that you are a transplant to our community.

    Jason Grey

Yes, it should been noted in the Daily News – and no I am not a transplant. This, along with hundreds of other all across the country, should be taken as an indication a large % of the population does not agree with what is going on.
There is no doubt that our government waste millions (maybe billions) of our dollars – the issue (I think) is the haphazard methods being used. Think.
I also hope and still believe that somehow, someway this country will survive.

    Cindy Lewis

Not only was the Paso “Not My Presidents’ Day” rally of more than 300 Roblans and allies uplifting, it reflects the majority of our country. Trump won with only 49% of the vote and 230,000 votes in 3 states. I grew up in SLO, transplanted all the way to Paso. Millions are being hurt and many will be killed by the Musk/Trump administration. the Tribune and KSBY covered it, why not our own Paso Daily News?
