Letter: Katcho has my vote for Congress
To the editor,
As a graduate student, and former student leader at Cal Poly, I consider it my duty to be an informed and involved citizen. So when Cal Poly hosted a congressional debate two weeks ago, I jumped at the opportunity to hear what the candidates had to say.
The mixture of personalities on stage was colorful to say the least. But Katcho Achadjian stood out to me the most. Never before have I heard a potential candidate make the statement, “If Congress cannot pass a balanced budget, they shouldn’t get paid. Simple as that.”
Of course I understand why gridlock happens, but this is the type of attitude we need in Congress. Katcho understands that passing the budget is the job he’s elected to do – and if it can’t be done on time, no one should get paid.
On top of that, Katcho drove straight from his job as an Assemblyman in Sacramento to be at the debate on Thursday night: that’s commitment. Not many politicians display that level of commitment anymore – but Mr. Achadjian does.
His dedication and attitude sold me. Katcho has my vote and he should have yours too.
