Letter: School color, mascot change are unsubstantiated rumors

bearcats

To the editor, and the Bearcat Community,

It is disheartening to hear that local radio station, KPRL, continues to irresponsibly report unsubstantiated rumors and pass them off as news.

I have to question the professionalism, ethics, and trustworthiness of a journalistic organization that reports stories that do not contain quotes, offer references, or include hyperlinks to back factual information, nor has made any contact with PRJUSD.

Regarding the school color and mascot change, every school board agenda and subsequent board minutes are available online and are public record.

It is deeply concerning that they are now targeting our own students. At no point this year have our students been drug tested by the district or law enforcement, let alone arrested and removed from the team.

I have never been more committed than I am right now and will continue to serve our students, staff, and community with passion, purpose, and conviction.

Thank you to those of you who serve and believe in our students.

Paso Robles Joint Unified School District Superintendent
