Letter: Thank you unknown heroes for stopping fire
I am a San Franciscan living here in Paso now and was so impressed by the compassion of Central Coast strength during a recent emergency.
A fire broke out in a backyard near mine and, before I even saw smoke, I saw people pulling over in their cars to get out and help. I let two men into my backyard who said they had already called the fire department and they hopped fences to stop the fire from spreading. Then, a woman came out of her car in hospital scrubs and helped me hose down my fence so the fire didn’t spread.
When the firefighters arrived, I thanked these people for their efforts and they were quickly on their way. My property was spared from this fire thanks to these unknown heroes. With all the bad news in the world, it is amazing to know people would jump out of their cars at the sight of smoke and spring into action without knowing what they are facing! So proud to be in Paso!
