Letter: Thank you to the wonderful, generous, and diligent residents of Paso Robles
Dear editor,
On Friday, May 12, my daughter Ashley and her fiancé Michele were driving from Santa Monica to visit me in Monterey for the weekend, accompanied by their dogs: 6-month-old Juno and 12-year-old Bodhi. It was Juno’s first long car trip and she was really carsick. They stopped at the Mobil station on the corner of Spring and 14th in Paso Robles at about 5 pm to try to calm her, and as soon as Ashley opened the door, Juno bolted. Thus began a nightmare that would last almost 48 hours.
I am writing this letter to thank the wonderful, generous and diligent residents of Paso for their help in Juno’s recovery. I’m sorry that I don’t remember any names, but from the countless people who canvassed the neighborhood by foot and car, to the young lady who brought them a kennel at 11pm on Saturday as they sat outside at the Mobil station all night, to the gracious woman and her daughter who offered their home for respite…thank you so very much. An alert Facebook user recognized Juno when she entered his yard and called with the news. Best Mother’s Day miracle ever…thanks to your amazingly helpful residents!
Sincerely, Susan Lerable
