Library book group to discuss ‘Bear Town’ in January

    – The Paso Robles City Library will host its monthly book group meeting Jan. 21 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Paso Robles City Library.

The group will discuss Beartown by Fredrik Backman. The title is available in regular and large print and as a book on CD through the Black Gold Library System, as well as as an eBook and audiobook through the library’s Libby digital platform.

The novel focuses on a small town whose residents place their hopes on a junior ice hockey team competing in the national semifinals. As the town’s expectations rest on the team, events connected to the semifinal game lead to consequences that affect the community and its residents. The book examines how shared hopes and hidden conflicts shape a town and the impact of individual actions.

Registration for the book group opens Jan. 2. Click here to register.
