Library book group to discuss ‘Dream Count’ in February
– The Paso Robles City Library will host an in-person book group discussion of Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie on Wednesday, Feb. 18, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Story Hour Room.
The event is part of the library’s monthly book group and is open to participants ages 16 and older. Space is limited, and each family member must register individually. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6.
Dream Count follows the lives of four women connected by friendship, family, and circumstance. Chiamaka, a Nigerian travel writer living in the United States, reflects on her past relationships while navigating isolation during the pandemic. Her best friend, Zikora, faces personal upheaval after experiencing betrayal. Chiamaka’s cousin, Omelogor, works in finance in Nigeria and begins to reassess her understanding of herself. Kadiatou, Chiamaka’s housekeeper, raises her daughter in the United States while confronting a significant personal challenge.
The book is available in regular and large print through the Black Gold Library System, as well as in electronic and audiobook formats through the library’s Libby digital platform.
The discussion will run from 5:30–7 p.m. at the Paso Robles City Library.
