Library celebrates National Volunteer Week and National Library Week

library paso robles–This week, April 19-25, is both National Volunteer Week and National Library Week—which gives library staff, volunteers, and users twice the reason to feel good and celebrate!

Civic engagement and volunteer service strengthens the fabric of our nation and reflects the true heart, spirit, and goodness of America. National Volunteer Week is the perfect time to thank the one hundred plus library volunteers who give their time and talent to help bring to the community the services they need and the programs they have come to enjoy.

The Paso Robles City Library has been providing the community free access to information for over 110 years. As the impact of the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve and change, the library has proven resilient and resourceful, serving as a rich pipeline for content, delivering access to information, ebooks, movies, music, video games, virtual storytimes, and activities. National Library Week is the perfect time to celebrate our library’s work for the greater good and to promote its use and support.

While the library is closed, the staff is available Monday-Saturday 10-5, to:

  • Answer questions about the library, i.e., how to access eLibrary materials, information about patron accounts, etc.
  • Answer questions about books, i.e., the availability of certain titles, recommendations about what to read next, etc.
  • Answer informational questions of all kinds

For telephone assistance, call (805) 237-3870. For email reference service, Library@prcity.com.

Paso Robles Library cardholders are encouraged to visit the library’s eLibrary and make use of all the digital resources. For those without a current library account wishing to access digital resources, eCards are available (for ages 13 and up) through the Black Gold Cooperative Library System.
