Library Cinema Club to screen ‘The Apartment’ Jan. 23
– The Paso Robles Library Cinema Club will host a film screening and discussion on Jan. 23 from 2–4 p.m. at the Paso Robles City Library.
The event takes place on the fourth Friday of each month and includes a screening, discussion, and snacks. The January program features the 1960 film The Apartment, written and directed by Billy Wilder.
The film follows insurance worker C.C. Baxter, played by Jack Lemmon, who lends his apartment to his boss to facilitate an extramarital affair in exchange for a promotion. The story centers on Baxter’s conflict when he learns the boss’s mistress, portrayed by Shirley MacLaine, is an elevator operator he is romantically interested in.
