Library cinema club to watch ‘Hidden Figures’
– The Cinema Club will host a film screening and discussion on Friday, March 28, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at its monthly in-person event. In honor of Women’s History Month, the film “Hidden Figures” will be featured.
Directed by Theodore Melfi, “Hidden Figures” (2017, rated PG-13, 2 hours 7 minutes) tells the true story of three African American women who played crucial roles at NASA. Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer), and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monae) were the brains behind one of the most important operations in space history, helping to launch astronaut John Glenn (Glenn Powell) into orbit.
