    Library event offers advice for home buyers and sellers 

    Opinion: Affordable housing is a foundation for strong communitiesEvent will feature local real estate professionals sharing advice on navigating the current housing market

    – The Paso Robles City Library will host a free event, “Estate 101: Buying and Selling Your Home,” on Jan. 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will be held in the EOC room at the Public Safety Center, located at 900 Park Street.

    The event will feature local real estate professionals sharing advice on navigating the current housing market, whether buying a first home or selling to meet changing needs.

    Real estate broker Kim Rivas of KD Capital Mortgage Corp. will discuss financing options, including down payments, interest rates, and affordability. Rivas will also provide information for sellers on transitioning between mortgages, including bridge loans.

    Realtor Michael Rowan of Century 21 Hometown Realty will explain recent changes in the real estate market and guide participants through the process of buying or selling a property, including determining a home’s value and navigating contracts.

    Escrow officer Christine Kelley of Placer Title Company will cover the escrow process from both the buyer’s and seller’s perspectives, providing insight into ensuring property ownership transfers legally and properly.

    Pam Lopez of Eslo Homes will share strategies for improving a home’s appeal to potential buyers, including tips on home staging.

    Insurance agent Gregory Byrne of Farmer’s Insurance will explain the challenges of securing home insurance in California and the types of insurance options available for buyers.

    Registration is required for the event, and space is limited. Participants must register each family member individually. The event is open to individuals aged 16 and older.
