Library hosting ‘Career Vision’ workshop for young adults, teens

Paso Robles City Council Chambers/Library.

–The Paso Robles City Library invites the public to attend a “Career Vision” workshop at the Paso Robles City Library on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This full-day employment workshop will present innovative and imaginative ideas that turn the job search process from reactive to proactive.

Participants will embark on an uplifting and motivational journey to discover a career vision: expanding the job search, exploring careers, identifying potential employers, building a resume, analyzing job descriptions, and utilizing local career and job resources. Career Vision is for new adults and teens, for the unemployed, underemployed, part and full-time job seekers, for career changers, retirees and workforce returnees, for GEDs, PhDs, students and recent grads, and for workforce and career education professionals.

Registration is recommended; seating is limited. There is no formal lunch break, but participants are invited to enjoy a light lunch or bring a brown bag meal.

The presenter, Jamie Beck, is a former CSU Career Counselor and has a MA in Human Services with an emphasis in Social Systems and a concentration in Family and Work. Career Vision, a holistic career program, has been reshaping the way job seekers fundamentally conceptualize, search, and apply for work for the past 8 years. The Paso Robles City Library’s Career Vision Workshop is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
