Library Study Center showcases fresh new look

Library study center paso robles

–The students just couldn’t wait for the large red ribbon to be cut on Monday, Aug. 20, when the Library Study Center unveiled its new look. Funded by the Library Foundation, students and parents rushed to see first-hand the Study Center’s new collaborative workspaces and participate in a book giveaway.

On hand to welcome everyone was Mayor Steve Martin, Library Trustee Michael Miller, Library Foundation President Pamela Alch and City Librarian Angelica Fortin.

The Study Center, located at 3600 Oak St., Ste. 101, was established in 2001 to provide a place for students to do homework after school. Cuesta College and Literacy for Life both utilize the space for English language classes. San Luis Obispo County’s First Five of California uses the space for early childhood education and parent education classes. Each year, over 10,700 people make use of Study Center resources.

“We are so excited about these new furnishings,” said Youth Services Librarian Melissa Bailey, “Because of the generosity of Library Foundation benefactors, the students and groups who utilize this facility now have a more comfortable and flexible workspace that takes into consideration the variety of services provided to our community.”

The Paso Robles City Library’s Library Study Center is located at 3600 Oak Street, Ste. 101 and is open Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 2:30-4:30, and Wednesday 1:30-3:30 during the school year. For more information on the Library Study Center, pcall (805) 237-3870 or visit www.prcity.com/library.
