    Library teen volunteer program application deadline approaching

    –The deadline to apply for the Paso Robles City Library’s Winter Break Express Teen Volunteer Program is Friday, Dec. 28, at 8 p.m.

    Students, grades 9-12, may volunteer between 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Dec. 31, 2018, and Jan. 2-5, 2019, to earn a maximum of 15 community service hours. Duties include shelving/shelf reading and cleaning.

    Applications are also being accepted for the Winter/Spring Ongoing Teen Volunteer Program, which begins Jan. 14, 2019, and runs through May. Shifts are 2-3 hours per day, one day per week; students must work a minimum of 20 hours per semester.

    Duties may include:
    • Assisting at public desks
    • Assisting with programs
    • Shelving/shelf reading
    • Cleaning/dusting shelves

    According to Library Volunteer Coordinator Suzanne Robitaille, “Community service work can help teens develop a sense of social responsibility and provide them an opportunity to apply academic learning to real human needs. It can also factor favorably into college admissions decision-making. We are thrilled to be able to offer students an opportunity to explore their interests and grow their skills in a friendly work environment.”

    The Paso Robles City Library is located at 1000 Spring Street and is open Monday – Friday 10-8, and Saturday 10-5.
