Library’s book group to discuss ‘Ramon and Julieta’
Title available in regular print through the Black Gold Library System and as an eBook and audiobook on the OverDrive/Libby digital platform
– The Paso Robles City Library will hold its monthly book group in person for a discussion of “Ramon and Julieta” by Alana Quintana Albertson on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 6 p.m. The title is available in regular print through the Black Gold Library System and as an eBook and audiobook on the OverDrive/Libby digital platform.
The book tells the story of Ramón Montez and Julieta Campos, who meet on the Day of the Dead. The pair face a dilemma between embracing the food rivalry that divides their families or pursuing a love that brings them together. Montez, driven by his ambitions and success in growing his father’s fast-food empire, becomes determined to find the woman who stole his heart. Meanwhile, Campos, a celebrity chef, fights to save her sea-to-table taqueria. When she learns that her new landlord is Montez, the man who once kissed her, she also discovers that his father stole her mother’s taco recipe decades earlier.
As tensions rise in the community over the “Taco King” takeover, Montez and Campos must navigate the growing divide between their families while balancing their emotions. Montez is determined to pursue their love, regardless of the challenges.
