Local art studio introduces new art and science workshop
– ArtSocial 805 has launched “Creative Chemistry,” a hands-on art and science workshop for children offered at its studio in Paso Robles and as a mobile program for schools and private groups.
The workshop combines artmaking with basic scientific exploration, allowing participants to experiment with materials while creating original artwork. Children mix paint with different materials, test reactions, and explore texture and motion during guided activities.
“Creative Chemistry is about asking ‘what happens if?’ and then letting kids find the answer with their own hands,” said ArtSocial 805 founder Karyn Blaney. “It blends creativity, experimentation, and confidence-building in a way that feels like play but sparks real learning and artistic results.”
Participants complete a series of guided experiments using materials designed for children. The workshop introduces concepts related to mixing, movement, cause and effect, and material science. No prior art or science experience is required.
The workshop is designed for children interested in experimentation and creative exploration. It is also offered as enrichment programming focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, as well as for homeschool families, after-school groups, birthday parties, school workshops, and special events.
Creative Chemistry supports ArtSocial 805’s mission to provide hands-on experiences centered on creativity, connection, and confidence.
The workshop is currently available for booking at the ArtSocial 805 studio and as a mobile offering for schools, organizations, and private groups.
