Local authors showcase at the library
–More than twenty local authors attended the First Annual Local Authors Showcase at the Paso Robles Library Conference Room. The authors each spoke for several minutes about their inspiration and their craft. Some read from their books; others recited their poetry. Each had a table where they inscribed and sold their books.
Among the best known writers, Sherry Shahan talked out the inspiration and research for several of her children’s and young adult books. Sherry is also a travel writer. She described how getting caught in a lightning storm while hiking in the Sierra led to one of her children’s books, “Death Mountain.”
The event was the first at the Paso Robles Library, but it was well-attended. Karen Christiansen says it’s likely there will be another next year.
