Local business owner awarded ‘Business Woman of the Year’

Liz Lee, owner/broker of Heart to Heart Real Estate.

The San Luis Obispo County Commission on the Status of Women, in collaboration with the South Bay Women’s Network, recently awarded Liz Lee, owner/broker of Heart to Heart Real Estate, the 2018 Wall of Fame Business Woman of the Year at the 5th Annual Wall of Fame Luncheon on March 10 at the Madonna Inn.

Lee is an accomplished real estate broker who created the business model of Heart to Heart Real Estate that is changing the community by giving a portion of commissions to local charitable organizations that are designated by their clients. Since 2013, Heart to Heart Real Estate has given close to $600,000 to over 50 nonprofits and charities.

After earning a Bachelor of Art degree in English from Whittier College in Los Angeles, Lee returned home to Chicago to assist with her family’s commercial development company; continuing her education and career in real estate. The complexity of the business world led her to study business law at Loyola Law School, earning a master’s degree in jurisprudence.

Nominations for the Woman’s Wall of Fame were submitted to the commission from organizations throughout SLO County; honoring women in the categories of business, service and volunteers. The members of the commission are appointed by the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors: serving as an advisory group since 1975. The local CSW is also affiliated with the state and national organization. Visit slowomen.org for information on how the commission serves to address the most important local issues facing women and girls in San Luis Obispo County.
