Local business people learn how to rank in Google search

Access Publishing hosted an SEO seminar on Friday to help local businesses and organizations improve their online marketing presence and rank in Google search results.
What is SEO? “It’s called search engine optimization,” says online marketing expert and speaker Beth Brennan. “Search engines are simple, they read content and sort that content by what they think is most valuable. They determine what’s most valuable using numerous factors. The higher quality your website, the more you update it, and the more people who talk about your site, the better you will do.”
Brennan gave a presentation dozens of attendees at the seminar, held at the North San Luis Obispo County Association of Realtors in Paso Robles.

“Essentially, SEO is about writing great content that communicates important information about your business and then publishing it on your website and across the Internet,” she says. “You need to tell Google who you are, what you do, and where you are located; and you need to do it effectively and repeatedly.”
