Local charter school board seeks community member to join
Charter school operates independently from the Paso Robles Unified School District while adhering to state learning standards
– Almond Acres Charter Academy (AACA) is seeking a community member to join its Board of Directors. The academy aims to support its mission to Grow Great Kids with the help of a new Community Board Member.
AACA opened twelve years ago in San Miguel and relocated to Paso Robles on Niblick Road in 2021. The charter school operates independently from the Paso Robles Unified School District while adhering to state learning standards. It is authorized by the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education. The academy is fully enrolled, serving more than 500 students in grades kindergarten through eighth.
The Board of Directors has helped the school develop teaching and learning experiences for students and adults. They collaborate with parents and community partners to create on and off-campus experiences that teach decision-making, problem-solving, invention, investigation, experimentation, and systems analysis. The school believes these “creativity systems” help develop great leaders and productive citizens.
The new AACA campus features a state-of-the-art facility that provides collaborative and creative spaces for teachers and students. This new site results from dedicated Board members advocating for an alternative to traditional public schools.
