Local chef injured in motorcycle accident, friends ask for support
Chef Mike Tudisco owns Villante’s Italian restaurant.
–Local chef Mike Tudisco, owner of Villante’s Italian restaurant in Paso Robles, was injured in a motorcycle accident earlier this month on April 3. He broke his leg. Due to the accident, his restaurant at 1111 Riverside Ave. was forced to close at least until June.
Tudisco’s family and friends created a GoFundMe account to support Tudisco with a fundraising goal of $5000. It has currently raised $800. The GoFundme reads:
Many of you know Mike Tudisco as the Villante’s Owner & Chef, also a warm-hearted, optimistic and loving father.
Mike’s pride and joy is going to the restaurant everyday and cooking up the best homemade Italian food and desserts for his customers and their families. Mike has been a chef for 40 years and was finally able to open up Villante’s in December 2019, right before the pandemic hit. While it cannot be left unsaid how COVID-19 has impacted small businesses, especially the service industry and restaurants, Mike decided to keep Villante’s open for business. He was able to do so without any lay-off of staff, while adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
Outside the restaurant, Mike loves to ride motorcycles. Thankfully, with the Paso Robles weather, he gets to ride them a lot! But unfortunately, that will not be for awhile. On April 3, Mike was riding one of his motorcycles into work and got in a bad accident, causing the bike to fall on top of him and is now left with a broken leg. He went in for tibia-fibula surgery and will now need to recover for 6-8 weeks, along with physical therapy to get him moving again. We foresee the restaurant re-opening in early June if all goes well.
Let’s show Mike the love by raising money for his medical treatments and also of course, for Villante’s Restaurant so we can keep him in business!
