Local club offers scholarship for enology and viticulture students

    Graduation cap

    Application deadline is April 15

Wines and Steins, a local club, is offering a scholarship for high school seniors in San Luis Obispo County who plan to pursue careers in enology or viticulture. The scholarship application is available at winesandsteins.org under the scholarships section.

Eligible applicants must be high school seniors graduating between December 2024 and June 2025. Students must be seeking a degree in enology or viticulture at either a two-year or four-year college. Applicants must have an unweighted grade point average of 3.0 or higher and provide unofficial transcripts with their application. Finalists will be required to submit official transcripts.

The application deadline is April 15. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation: one from a school teacher or administrator and one from an individual not related to the applicant. The selected recipient will be required to give a brief presentation at a Wines and Steins general meeting.

Students can complete the application by filling out either a PDF or Word version. The application may be downloaded, typed into directly, or printed and completed by hand. All sections of the application must be filled out, and non-applicable sections should be marked as “N/A.” The application must be signed, either digitally or by hand, depending on the format used.

Completed applications must be saved and submitted via email along with all required documents. If a printed version is used, applicants must scan or photograph each page before submitting. Applications and any questions regarding the process should be emailed to scholarship@winesandsteins.org.
