Local dentist Dr. Grant Marcum lends support to Bearcat Boosters
Paso Robles High School athletes benefit from fundraiser benefiting Bearcat Boosters
Thanks to a successful fundraiser conducted by local dentist Grant Marcum and his staff, students at Paso Robles High School are benefiting from proceeds that will go towards equipment, uniforms, awards, facilities, scholarships, CIF post-season transportation, and much more.
The fundraiser, which ran for the final three months of 2013, garnered nearly $1,000 for the Bearcat Boosters, a non-profit service organization dedicated to the support of all the athletic teams of Paso High. Custom teeth whitening trays were fabricated and sold for a reduced fee, with Dr. Marcum donating 90 percent of the proceeds to the Bearcat Boosters.
“This is the second fundraiser we have done for the Boosters,” Dr. Marcum said. “It is a fun way to give people a whiter smile and also give back to our community.”
A complimentary consultation was offered to each participant and impressions of the teeth were obtained before the custom whitening trays were fabricated. During a follow-up visit, Dr. Marcum met with participants to fit the trays before sending them home with a custom whitening kit.
A check was presented to Mike Keller, Boosters president, earlier this year. Dr. Marcum has been practicing dentistry in Paso Robles since 1997. A former water polo player at Righetti High School, he believes in supporting all athletics and, since moving to North County, now calls himself a “huge Bearcat fan.”
