Local farms offer free self-guided tours in June
Agricultural producers across San Luis Obispo County will welcome visitors June 19-21
– FARMstead ED announced the SLO County Farm Trail’s sixth annual Open Farm Days Weekend will take place June 19-21.
The three-day event will feature more than 20 farms, ranches, producers, and purveyors across San Luis Obispo County. Visitors can participate in a self-guided tour with stops focused on beekeeping, olive oil production, fruit and vegetable farming, and livestock operations featuring goats, alpacas, sheep, pigs, and cattle.
According to FARMstead ED, local purveyors will also feature products made with locally grown ingredients. Guests may choose which locations to visit and set their own schedules throughout the weekend.
For the first time, tickets for Open Farm Days Weekend will be free.
“Our aim in moving to a free ticket model is to make it more accessible and welcoming to locals, families, and visiting guests,” said Lynette Sonne, founder of FARMstead ED.
Guests must register online in advance to attend. Free tickets are available at my805tix.com/e/open-farm-days-2026.
Organizers also announced a new interactive trail map for 2026 that allows attendees to plan visits and review participating farms’ hours, activities, and event details. Some farms may require advance reservations for specific activities.
The map is available at farmsteaded.com/ofd-trail-map.
Open Farm Days Weekend serves as the San Luis Obispo County Farm Trail’s largest annual fundraiser. According to FARMstead ED, proceeds support agricultural education programs, promote awareness of family farming, and highlight agricultural production methods.
FARMstead ED is a 501(c)(5) nonprofit organization that promotes locally grown and made products. Open Farm Days operates under fiscal sponsorship from Ecologistics, a 501(c)(3) organization based in San Luis Obispo.
