Local football teams begin playoff games Friday night
Templeton holds No. 1 seed and home-field advantage
– High school football teams across the Central Section will begin playoff competition Friday night.
In Division IV, top-seeded Templeton (10-0) has a first-round bye. The Eagles will face the winner of the game between No. 8 Coalinga and No. 9 Monache. Templeton has defeated both teams earlier this season.
Head Coach Don Crow said the Eagles are eager to host their first playoff game. As the No. 1 seed, Templeton will host all of its postseason games. The team practiced under a nearly full moon Tuesday and Wednesday night on its home field.
Also in Division IV, No. 10 Atascadero will travel south on Highway 101 to play No. 7 Nipomo.
In Division III, No. 12 Paso Robles will travel to Delano to take on No. 5 Kennedy. No. 14 Mission College Prep will travel to play top-seeded Shafter.

In Division II, No. 4 Arroyo Grande will host No. 13 Sunnyside, and No. 11 San Luis Obispo will travel to play No. 6 Lemoore.
Most games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The higher-seeded team in each matchup will host. Winners advance in the playoffs, while losing teams will conclude their seasons.
