Role focuses on growing community support and donor engagement

    – Meghan Shoven has joined Adventist Health’s Central Coast Network, supporting Adventist Health Sierra Vista and Adventist Health Twin Cities in Templeton, as leader of the Office of Philanthropy. She began her new role on March 31.

Shoven brings more than 15 years of experience in philanthropy, strategic outreach, and donor engagement. She most recently served as director of campaign outreach at Stanford University, where she led the execution of complex outreach initiatives and events as part of the university’s comprehensive campaign. She previously held leadership roles in external relations and donor relations at Santa Clara University and the American Cancer Society.

“We are excited about the fundraising and leadership experience that Meghan brings with her to Adventist Health,” said Ryah Ashlock, president of the Adventist Health Central Coast Network. “We look forward to her helping our organization deepen our relationships within the community and increase support for our foundation.”

In her new role, Shoven will oversee the Office of Philanthropy for the Central Coast Network. She will support the Twin Cities and Sierra Vista hospitals by cultivating community-based giving, partnering with stakeholders across healthcare and philanthropy, and helping ensure the hospitals are resourced to provide care.

Philanthropic investments to Adventist Health contribute to the construction of new facilities, the recruitment of physicians and researchers, development of treatment methods, and broader community health initiatives.

“I’m energized by opportunities that combine strategic vision with heart,” Shoven said. “And I’m passionate about building meaningful relationships that drive mission-aligned impact.”

Shoven lives in Templeton with her husband, Jimmy, and their three children.
