Local MMA fighter takes on management of supplement company
MG Sports Nutrition is latest challenge for brothers
–By night an MMA fighter, by day an entrepreneur, Chris Elisararraras, along with his brother Anthony Elisararraras, recently took over management of MG Supplements in Paso Robles. Chris is well-known for his success in the MMA, which he has been participating in for roughly nine years, with a 3-1 record this year. However, some are unaware of Chris’ success outside the ring.
He has been running businesses in one form or another since he was sixteen, when he started his own detailing company. Later on, he and his brother, Anthony, started Ants Tractor Mowing then Lady Luck Productions, both of which they are still running today. MG Sports Nutrition is their latest challenge.
Initially, Chris and Anthony were entirely unsure of how the supplement business was supposed to be run, as Chris could attest to. “I had no idea what I was doing at first,” said Chris, “My brother and I just spent hours and hours studying.” Chris went on to describe how he and his brother watched multiple YouTube videos and visited more than a few websites which taught him about how the supplement world worked. “I found out that none of the companies that sell the product actually make the product,” Chris said, “The companies that sell it only create the brand while the product is made in a lab.” That fact surprised the two at first, so knowing it made them push extra emphasis on the quality and reliability of the companies and products they were selling.
Their next challenge was to figure out how to provide the best prices possible for their customers. “Online beats everyone’s prices at retail,” said Chris. However, they have found a way to sell their products at wholesale prices.
Before a product is sold, Chris and Anthony’s main concern is what will be best for each individual customer. They do this by giving them the supplement that is best suited for the person by looking at their weight, body type, workout rate, water/food intake, etc. Anthony, being an experienced massage practitioner, finds this step to be especially important. “People will often come in looking for a quick boost, but they overlook the important steps such as how much they eat and drink,” said Anthony. The two even offer free samples of different products for people to test out during a workout, in order to see what works and what doesn’t. Essentially, the brothers’ goal is for their customers to get what is best for them for the best price.
With his experience in MMA, Chris said that fighting really gave him a strong work ethic overall, which helped him out in business, since the two can both be mentally and physically draining, Chris said. “It made my drive that much more intense” said Chris.
Chris said he owes a lot of his fighting success to supplements. “Supplements have changed my game,” he said, “They made me want to go back to the gym.” Chris’ successes with supplements is what drove him to make sure each of his customers were getting only what was best for them to succeed. As for Chris’ life in the MMA, he just won a title fight for a featherweight belt in Visalia on Sept. 2.
