Screening of Line in the Sand highlights human trafficking crisis
– Resilient Souls, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing trauma-informed care training and support for survivors of complex trauma, abuse, and sexual exploitation, will host a special fundraising event during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. The event will feature a screening of the film Line in the Sand, directed by James O’Keefe.
The screening, which is free to the public, will take place on Tuesday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at Park Cinemas, located at 1100 Pine Street in Paso Robles.
Line in the Sand presents an in-depth look into the migrant industrial complex, offering never-before-seen footage from cartel tunnels, Mexican freight trains, U.S.-funded child detention centers, and incidents of sex and drug trafficking. The film aims to highlight the dangerous journey of migrants, the illegal transportation of unaccompanied minors, and the harsh realities of a strained and broken system in New York City.
Tickets for the screening are free and can be reserved in advance by clicking here. Tickets are also available in person at Park Cinemas. A question-and-answer session with local experts will follow the screening to discuss the importance of supporting survivors.
“Sex trafficking and drug trafficking are societal issues that have exploded in the past four years, devastating our communities,” said Lisa Majors, Founder of Resilient Souls. “Events like this not only bring awareness to these critical issues, but also foster a compassionate community that will help protect children, young adults, and trauma victims from violence and abuse.”
Resilient Souls is a non-profit organization committed to helping survivors of human trafficking by offering educational programs and resources that encourage their growth and healing. Through community support and outreach initiatives, the organization aims to build a compassionate community that empowers survivors on their paths to recovery.
