Local shelter, nonprofit pair up for Atascadero community clean-up day

Volunteers, ECHO residents, and Earth Shine members will work together to clean and revitalize the area

ECHO Shelter is partnering with Earth Shine to host a community clean-up day in Atascadero on Saturday, Feb. 8. Volunteers, ECHO residents, and Earth Shine members will work together to clean and revitalize the area.

Earth Shine is a nonprofit organization based on California’s Central Coast that focuses on environmental cleanup efforts. The group organizes volunteer cleanup events on the second Saturday of each month in various communities, aiming to prevent litter from contaminating soils and waterways.

Participants will meet at ECHO Atascadero at 9:30 a.m. before walking to Sunken Gardens at 9:45 a.m. Those who prefer can join the group directly at Sunken Gardens at 10 a.m.

The event aims to bring community members together to improve local spaces through collaboration and service. Volunteers of all experience levels are welcome to participate.
