Contreras is one of 15 athletes that will be representing California and is the only player from San Luis Obispo County and neighboring counties, Monterrey and Santa Barbara.

Contreras started playing football at the age of seven with Paso Robles Youth Football and Cheer and has been participating on the middle school’s basketball and wrestling teams, and club basketball team (Central Coast Rush), all while maintaining good grades.
