Local student presents documentary about magician Rich Ferguson at SLO Film Fest
‘Becoming Rich’ chronicles his life, career, power of ‘Cyber-positivity’
–Cambria resident and award-winning filmmaker Carlos Plummer’s new documentary film, Becoming Rich, about local celebrity and magician Rich Ferguson, will be screening at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival as an exclusive, limited engagement special California premiere event at the Fremont Theater on Thursday, March 14 at 7 p.m. The film screens with a feature documentary Tin City, which will also be premiering that night.
The film is a short documentary that chronicles the life and successes of magician, mentalist, entertainer, YouTuber, and San Luis Obispo resident Rich Ferguson. Follow his inspiring life from his unconventional childhood to his wildly popular following today in this playful yet poignant documentary about magic, life, and power of “cyber-positivity.”
Carlos Plummer is a high school senior, and SLO Film fest alumni and award-winner. He has been making films with his brother Kyle since 2008, and plans to attend Dixie State University in the fall of 2019 to study film.
