    Local student restores Farmall tractor

–International Harvester Collectors of California partners with local high schools that support Future Farmers of America (FFA). Through the nonprofit known as California IH Collectors Foundation, they have now supported 35 local FFA chapters where youth are rebuilding old Farmall tractors.

For Paso Robles High School FFA, Tyler Schimke recently restored a Farmall 300 LP tractor into picture perfect condition. The Farmall 300 tractor was built by the International Harvester Corporation from 1954 through 1956, with more than 29,000 of these tractors leaving the factory. The tractor originally sold for $2,900 with a 4-cylinder engine that supported 38 horsepower.

The restoration is a labor of love as Tyler Schimke demonstrates and is proud to show to friends, collectors, and family. Tyler meticulously recorded his restoration in a notebook containing:

    • Description of the restoration
    • Expense report
    • Photographs taken throughout the restoration
    • Details of all mechanical work performed

The California IH Collectors Foundation joins JB Dewar Corporation, a local fuel and energy supplier and supporter of FFA tractor restorations, in saluting Paso Robles High School student Tyler Schimke’s accomplishment.

California IH Collectors Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit is a proud sponsor of high school FFA chapters throughout California. For more information see www.ihcc14.org or call 916-983-6415.
