Local vineyard names new vineyard manager, expands leadership team

Team will oversee estate vineyards in Paso Robles wine regions
– ONX Wines has appointed Tucker Robertson as vineyard manager and promoted Drew Nenow to head of winegrowing and winemaker.
The winery said the leadership changes are intended to strengthen coordination between vineyard and cellar operations. Robertson and Nenow will oversee winegrowing activities across ONX estate properties in the Templeton Gap and Willow Creek districts.
According to the winery, ONX Wines has spent the past three years implementing organic farming practices at the ONX Estate Vineyard and Kiler Canyon Vineyard. The effort has included reduced inputs, increased biodiversity, and practices focused on long-term sustainability and vineyard management.
“Our vineyards are the foundation of everything we do,” said Nenow. “The progress we’ve made over the last three years in transitioning our estate properties to organic farming has been remarkable. Bringing Tucker into this role strengthens our ability to continue that work while further elevating the quality and character of our wines.”

Tucker Robertson.
Robertson, a Southern California native, said his connection to Paso Robles began during family visits to the area and summers spent at Lake Nacimiento.
“Some of my earliest memories of Paso involve spending time with my family on the lake and then exploring wineries throughout Adelaida and Willow Creek,” said Robertson. “It’s incredibly rewarding to now be part of a team helping shape the future of winegrowing in a place that has meant so much to me for so long.”
Robertson earned a degree in agricultural engineering from Iowa State University with a specialization in land and water resources. He also played five seasons as a defensive end for the Iowa State Cyclones football program in the Big 12 Conference.
After moving to California’s Central Coast in 2022, Robertson worked in vineyard operations throughout the Willow Creek, Adelaida, and Templeton Gap growing regions. He has worked on ONX vineyard properties in various capacities since the 2022 harvest season and will enter his fifth season with the estate in 2026.
Robertson earned certification as a Certified Crop Advisor in 2025. He also owns and operates an organic vermicompost business that produces worm castings for agricultural use.
“Tucker brings an exceptional combination of scientific curiosity, practical vineyard experience, and genuine passion for regenerative agriculture,” said Nenow. “His understanding of soil health, ecosystem management, and organic farming aligns perfectly with where ONX is headed.”
The winery said Robertson’s appointment comes as ONX continues to expand organic farming practices across its estate vineyards.
