    – The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce recently announced the graduation of more than 60 local youth from its 2025 Jr. CEO Program on June 2. The celebration took place at The Ravine Waterpark, hosted by owner Brett Butterfield.

“We sincerely thank Brett Butterfield for his incredible support,” said Josh Cross, president and chief executive officer. “The success of the Jr. CEO graduation celebration reflects his generosity and steadfast commitment to our youth and the greater community.”

The Jr. CEO Program, designed to inspire entrepreneurial thinking in youth ages 6 to 16, included six workshops covering topics such as budgeting, branding, marketing, customer service, and product development. The program concluded with the Jr. CEO Business Fair at the Sunken Gardens, where participants showcased and sold their products.

“The energy, creativity, and determination these kids brought to the program was truly inspiring,” Cross said. “They’re not just our future business owners—they’re already making an impact.”

During the graduation celebration, participants enjoyed miniature golf, games, waterslides, lunch, and ice cream. Parents and community members praised the program for teaching business skills and building confidence, communication, and responsibility.

“Our son came out of his shell,” said one parent. “He now talks about business goals at the dinner table.”

The Atascadero Chamber plans to expand the 2026 Jr. CEO Program to include more resources and additional opportunities for hands-on learning. Registration for the 2026 program will open in January.
