Long Walk Home event supports homeless services on Central Coast

Participants will walk through downtown Atascadero to symbolize the journey many take toward stability

    – ECHO (El Camino Homeless Organization) will host its 13th annual Long Walk Home fundraiser on Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. at the ECHO Atascadero Campus. The event aims to raise funds and awareness for the services ECHO provides to individuals and families experiencing homelessness on the Central Coast.

Participants will walk through downtown Atascadero to symbolize the journey many take toward stability. After the walk, attendees will return to the Atascadero Campus for a BBQ, campus tours, and live music. Funds raised will support ECHO’s services in Atascadero and Paso Robles, including food, shelter, case management, and job training programs.

“We invite everyone in the community to join us for this meaningful event,” said Wendy Lewis, CEO at ECHO. “Every step taken during the Long Walk Home is a step toward providing hope and support to those who need it most.”

The event will begin with check-in at 10 a.m., followed by the walk at 11 a.m. Registration is available on the ECHO website.

ECHO has been providing food, shelter, and supportive services in San Luis Obispo County since 2001. The organization operates two shelters with a total bed capacity of 130, offering a community dinner and shower program for local individuals and families.
