–On the Beach Bed & Breakfast, the luxury hotel Cayucos that visitors favor, announces its support for helping keep Cayucos State Beach litter-free. The hotel supplies litterbags upon request to hotel guests and community members to use for picking up litter on their beach walks.

On The Beach Bed & Breakfast is a luxury hotel Cayucos has been home to since it was built in 2004. Since purchasing the hotel in 2007 and changing the name to On the Beach Bed & Breakfast, owners Richard Rengel and Richard and Debbie Shannon, continuously strive to keep the rooms above standard and maintain the beach charm and mystique.

The approximately four-mile stretch of beach is just steps away from the front door of the luxury hotel. Cayucos State Beach and the Cayucos Beach combine to create the popular beachfront. Although the State of California manages the state beach, both beaches are maintained by the San Luis Obispo County of Parks and Recreation. “Glad to hear a hotel is doing this,” said Supervising Park Ranger Bob Yetter in response to hearing about the hotel’s litterbag program. “We have school kids and other volunteers who team up to help clean the beach. It’s nice to know about this hotel helping out.”

Yetter said the county empties two three-cubic foot dumpsters a week during the summer season and one a week during the off-season. County maintenance crews fill the dumpsters when they empty the trashcans that are distributed along the beaches and on the Cayucos Pier. Approximately 168 tons of trash is removed from the beach every year.

On the Beach Bed & Breakfast is a luxury hotel Cayucos visitors enjoy for the 14 warmly appointed rooms and freshly prepared hot breakfast every morning. Just steps from the beach, the evening wine and cheese socials paired with selected wines, and easy access to popular Central Coast sights and activities all combine for a unique vacation escape. The upstairs rooms feature balconies overlooking the beach. More rooms downstairs provide views of the beach, pier, and the picturesque village of Cayucos. The airy rooms are appointed with warm traditional furnishings with fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. Included are flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and private bathrooms.
