Man arrested for series of commercial burglaries
–The Paso Robles Police Department has arrested 29-year-old Carlos Aguirre Camacho of Paso Robles in connection with a series of commercial burglaries in the Paso Robles area. Camacho was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on four counts of commercial burglary. Camacho’s arrest was the result of a week-long investigation into four commercial burglaries to area businesses, according to police.
The first burglary occurred on Nov. 6, 2015 to a local restaurant where Camacho is suspected of breaking into the business through a skylight on the roof. Three additional burglaries were reported to the PRPD over the next week, with the last occurring on Nov. 12, 2015. All the businesses were closed at the time of the thefts and the point of entry was through roof top access points. Businesses reported the theft of cash, cellular phones, and other merchandise. Total losses are estimated at approximately $20,000.
Follow-up investigation revealed that Camacho had previously worked for two of the four businesses and was on probation in San Luis Obispo County. Officers contacted Camacho near his Paso Robles residence on Nov. 13 and located him with merchandise from the Nov. 12 burglary. Subsequent to his arrest, Camacho admitted responsibility for the other burglaries, according to police.
