Man arrested for robbery

–On Tuesday evening an alert citizen witnessed two males fighting near the Rabo-Bank on Broad Street. Officers arrived to find a male assault victim who reported having his backpack and laptop computer stolen by an individual he knew as “Alex Friend.”
The victim suffered several scrapes during the assault.
The investigating officer recognized the suspects’ name and knew him to frequent the area around Mission Plaza. A short time later the officer located Friend near Mission Plaza.
Friend was found in the vicinity of some of the items taken during the robbery and admitted he had stolen the property from the victim. Friend was taken into custody for 211 PC, Robbery, and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail. His bail was set at $30,000.
